The time in Madrid flew by so fast. It didn't feel like I was there for three months, the time flew by so fast. I had so many great experiences; I went to old cities in Spain for example, Toledo and Cáceres, made some great friends and lived somewhere without my parents in another country.
When the day was approaching for me to leave Madrid, I still felt like there was so much that I hadn't done, so many more places in Madrid that I wanted to visit. It was sad saying goodbye to everyone.
On my last day of school, the principle came into the classroom to wish me goodbye. The whole class sang a song in Italian which was the one they sing for you when you graduate from 4 ESO (10th grade). My classmates also made me a poster and each person wrote something on it for me. The school also gave me some of their merchandise: note books, a sweater, school photos, a binder, and note pads. It was a very lovely ceremony and everybody was telling me how much they would miss me.
At home in Madrid, I had to start packing up all my things from the guest room I was staying in. The room looks so empty and bare without all my things in it anymore. The next morning I had to get up at the same time as Ignacio and Patricia for school because my flight was in the morning. I had my last breakfast at their house, said goodbye to Jose, Patricia, and Ignacio and then Pilar drove me to my great uncle's house. He then drove me to the airport after I said a quick goodbye to my family.
I took a plane to LHR and my grandparents picked me up and drove me to their house. I spent the night there and in the morning we drove back to the airport. Surprisingly, it took us two hours to get to the airport unlike the usual time of 45 mins. Gladly, we made it onto our plane just in time. Together, we flew to SFO where we got a car to my house. I felt great to get back home after hours of traveling.
